Corporate responsibility

Corporate Responsibility at SCC: Championing Sustainability

At Source Code Control, we carry out our business with a dedication to sustainability that filters every aspect of our operations. Our corporate responsibility is deeply rooted in creating a balance between our business objectives and contributing positively to our planet and society. We aim to enrich the lives of our employees and customers.

This policy outlines our commitments and approach to embed sustainability and positive societal impact into our business operations and culture.

  1. Environmental Stewardship: We pledge to prioritise environmental management across our operations, taking active steps to minimise our carbon footprint, reduce waste, and explore energy-efficient technologies. Through off setting all carbon emissions, to implementing schemes, such as Cycle to work, we are committed to continually improving our environmental impact.
  2. Sustainability-Driven Innovation: As a solution provider, we firmly believe our ability to innovate reflects our potential to improve sustainability. As a company we have committed to:
    Calculated our current carbon consumption.
Committed to reduce our carbon consumption by 55% before 2030.
Until then, offset our carbon consumption by 125% through the purchase of regulated carbon credits on an annual basis.
  3. Helping others with Sustainability: In the process of our own sustainability journey, we learned a lot! We are trying to help small businesses with their sustainability efforts, by freely sharing that knowledge. We have developed https://www.co2e.tech where companies can calculate the carbon output of their IT equipment and purchase the carbon credits required to offset these emissions. The motivation behind this is to expand accessibility for companies looking to improve their environmental impact.
  4. Community Engagement: We believe in being a positive influence on the communities we operate within. As an ongoing yearly initiative, January welcomes a month of fundraising activities in aid of Sport in Mind. Not only do our offices world-wide participate in these activities, but we also encourage participation from our partners to get involved too and are very proud of the results we have seen.
  5. Protecting employees: We ensure that our employees are treated with dignity and respect, and that their human rights are protected.
  6. Proudly part of the Indian economy: Unlike many global outsourcers, our staff in India are entitled to the same benefits as the staff in the UK – flexible working; hours similar to the European working directive; healthcare; eye care; a quality office with food and drinks provided and a generous holiday allowance. Furthermore, we actively encourage applications from everyone – irrespective of gender, race, sexual orientation and including those who are home-bound caring for relatives. From a staff of 28 in India, in 2024 we had attrition of just 1 person. We are proud to participate responsibly in the Indian economy.
  7. Continuous Improvement: We will regularly review this policy and our practices to ensure continuous improvement in every aspect of our performance.
  8. Compliance and Beyond: We undertake to comply with all relevant legal requirements, regulations, and industry standards. However, we view compliance as a minimum standard and will constantly strive to outperform these benchmarks.
  9. Stakeholder Engagement: We will communicate this policy to our stakeholders, ensuring they are aware of our commitments. We welcome the active involvement of all stakeholders to help us meet our goals.
  10. Responsible trading in the marketplace: We strive to maintain the highest standards of ethical behaviour in all our business operations, including anti-corruption measures, fair labour practices, and respect for human rights.

This policy is a living document that encapsulates our approach to conduct business responsibly. It is reviewed periodically and modified to accommodate changes in circumstances and operational scope to align with Source Code Control’s mission and long-term strategies. Our aim is to foster sustainable development and value creation for our stakeholders, the wider community, and future generations.
